From the incidental music composed in 1954 to the “Twelfth night” by Shakespeare, Farkas selected four songs for a separate concert performance with piano or harp accompaniment. At the Hungarian theatre they were performed in Lőrinc Szabó’s Hungarian translation. As songs they can also be sung with the Shakespeare’s original words.

De la musique de scène écrite en 1954 pour la pièce de Shakespeare « Twelfth night » (La nuit des rois), Farkas retint, pour une version concert, quatre mélodies pour soprano ou alto avec accompagnement de piano ou de harpe. Lors des représentations théâtrales en Hongrie, ces mélodies étaient interprétées dans la traduction de Lőrincz Szabó, mais en concert, elles peuvent aussi être chantées dans le texte original de Shakespeare.

A „Vízkereszt, vagy amit akartok” 1954-es színpadi zenéjéből Farkas négy dalt emelt ki önálló koncertelőadásra, zongora vagy hárfa kísérettel. A színházi előadásokon ezek Szabó Lőrinc fordításában szólaltak meg, dalként azonban Shakespeare eredeti szövegével is énekelhetők.
