I have been a member of the jury of the composing contest in Arezzo on several occasions (the last time I shared this honour with Luigu Dallapiccola and Petrassi). I often went to these events with my wife, and i must admit that we became very fond of Petrarca 's beautiful hometown. So it was not by chance that when my wife died in 1992, the first work I wrote and dedicated to her memory was based on Petrarca's sonnet CCCXXXIII.

Többször voltam az arezzói zeneszerzȍ-verseny zsűrijének tagja (legutòbb Luigi Dallapiccola és Petrassi társaságában). Ezekre az alkalmakra jò néhányszor feleségemmel együtt utaztam, és el kell mondanom, hogy Petrarca szép szülővárosa nagyon a szìvünkhöz nȍtt. Nem véletlen tehát, hogy amikor feleségem 1992-ben elhunyt, az első mű, amivel emlékének áldoztam, a CCCXXXIII. Petrarca-szonett soraira épült.
