I was inspired by many poems by Jenö Dsida, the Transylvanian poet who died at an early age. One of them was 'St. John's Well' (Cantata lirica), which provided the lyrics for one of my cantatas. The music written in a simple, "quasi madrigal" style for the poem 'Merre szall' has a smooth lilt, which is only broken by the throbbing of the line I am faltering, getting wounds all over me.

Dsida Jenȍ, a fiatalon elhunyt erdélyi költȍ nagyon sok verse volt rám inspirálò hatással, többek között egyik kantàtám, a „Szent János kùtja” is az ȍ szövegére készült. A „Merre száll?” egyszerȕ, quasi madrigál-stílusban megzenésìtett költeményének sima lejtését csak a „botladozom magam összesebezve” sorzakatolás töri meg.
